Adam leads Openfund's industry relationships and product direction. He spent over a decade building Freedom Lending (now Nuborrow), one of Canada's most respected private mortgage brokerages, before joining 360Lending and Blossom Capital. His relationships across the Canadian mortgage broker and lender community span the full spectrum of the industry.
The Canadian mortgage market has evolved — the infrastructure that supports it hasn't
The Canadian mortgage market has grown more complex — more lender categories, more borrower situations, higher regulatory expectations, faster rate cycles. The infrastructure that supports it hasn't kept up. Brokers still shop deals through phone calls and personal networks. Lenders still receive applications that don't match their current criteria. Compliance is still manual. The systems work, but they were built for a simpler market.
Openfund is rebuilding that infrastructure — a unified marketplace where lender criteria are live, deals reach every eligible lender automatically, compliance generates as you work, and capital recycles through Canada's first standardized resale marketplace. Built by a team of mortgage operators who have spent the last decade running brokerages, managing private capital, and working inside the workflows the platform replaces.
Built by operators who run the businesses we serve
The Openfund leadership team has spent the last decade running the brokerages, capital businesses, and administration companies the platform connects.
Chris leads Openfund's lender network and capital markets relationships. He has spent sixteen years reviewing private mortgage applications at Fireside Mortgage Investment Corporation, where he is also a Mortgage Lender. He brings the underwriting and capital-deployment perspective that lender-side discipline requires.
Kiri leads Openfund's product, engineering, and operations. Before Openfund, he led technology and operations at Blossom Capital, where he built the infrastructure that processes Canadian private mortgage transactions at scale.
Ringo leads Openfund's strategy and growth. He also operates 360Lending, one of Canada's most-reviewed mortgage brokerages, and Blossom Capital, a Canadian mortgage administration company. His decade of building these businesses gives him direct operator experience on both the broker and lender sides of the market.
Three established Canadian mortgage businesses
Openfund is anchored by a founding brokerage, a founding administrator, and a founding lender — each one a recognized operator in Canada's mortgage market.
360Lending
360Lending is one of Canada's most-reviewed mortgage brokerages, with over 2,000 five-star reviews across Trustpilot and Google. Operating since 2015, the brokerage serves Ontario borrowers across A-lender, B-lender, and private mortgage situations. As Openfund's founding brokerage, 360Lending anchors the platform's broker network — its review track record and operational standards define the bar that other brokerages must meet to join.

Openfund operates inside Canada's regulatory framework, not around it
Here's how that works in practice — across regulation, security, and the standards we hold every counterparty to.
Regulatory framework
Every broker on Openfund is a licensed mortgage agent or broker regulated by FSRA. Every administrator is licensed under the Mortgage Brokerages, Lenders and Administrators Act, 2006 (MBLAA). Lender participation aligns with each lender's regulatory category — major banks under OSFI, MICs under provincial securities regulation, and private lenders under FSRA oversight. The platform is structured to support these frameworks, not to work around them.
Security and data handling
Application data and personal information are encrypted in transit and at rest, stored exclusively in Canada (ca-central-1), and access-controlled with role-based permissions. The platform is PIPEDA-aligned and operates under continuous third-party security review. SOC 2 certification is in progress.
Accountability
Brokerages join Openfund by invitation, based on review history, regulatory standing, and operational integrity. Lenders publish criteria that bind them to their offers. Both sides are rated by counterparties and accountable to the platform's standards on an ongoing basis. The Openfund Report documents every funded deal — what was considered, what was offered, and what was recommended — creating an audit trail for principal broker review and regulatory verification.
Working with Openfund
Whether you broker, lend, or borrow — Openfund is the marketplace built for the way Canadian mortgages actually move.
